John C. Colpean
Mr. Colpean served as
legal counsel to the Michigan Legislature from 1978 - 1988. After
entering private practice in 1988, Mr. Colpean has concentrated his
practice on matters pertaining to insurance regulation, transactions,
and litigation. He currently serves as general counsel to the
Michigan Life &
Health Insurance Guaranty Association (MLHIGA).
Mr. Colpean has served on the Insurance Law Committee of the State Bar of Michigan. He is a former member of the board of directors of the National Organization of Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Associations (NOLHGA) and has served on numerous task forces and committees of NOLHGA, including chair of the NOLHGA legal committee (1997-2001) and chair of the NOLHGA Coverage Claims Committee (2005-present).
